Flood Assistance

18th January 2011

BMO would like to express our sincere concern and empathy to those who have been affected by the devastating floods. We have compiled a fact sheet outlining the range of relief funds and support that is being made available.

Prime Minister Gillard announced earlier this week clean-up grants of $25,000 will be immediately available for businesses in the Banana, Barcaldine, Bundaberg, Central Highlands, Cherbourg, Lockyer Valley, North Burnett, Scenic Rim, Somerset, South Burnett, Southern Downs, Western Downs and Woorabinda districts. Concessional interest rate loans of $250,000 for small businesses and farmers, along with subsidies for freight of up to $5,000, are also now available.

For anyone who has been substantially affected by the flooding there is also $1,000 (adults) and $400 (children) in assistance available through the Australian Governments Disaster Recovery Payment. Please contact Centrelink for more information. Primary Producers please phone QRAA for assistance.

Please view our factsheet for more information.
