Dalby accountancy, financial planning and business advice firm, BMO Accountants, has invited long-term employee Michelle McVeigh to formally join the business as a partner.

From 1 July 2008 Mrs McVeigh will join partners Peter McKinnon, Kelvin Tyler and Adrian Rasmussen to head up the firm.

Now with 36 staff, BMO Accountants is one of the region’s leading accounting practices.

Partner Peter McKinnon said Mrs McVeigh had been with BMO for 14 years and had taken on a management role since being appointed as an associate partner in 2005.

“She’s a highly respected member of the team and we’re looking forward to her having her officially on board as a partner.”

With an agribusiness and farming background, CPA status and a Bachelor of Business (Accounting), Michelle has extensive experience in accounting and taxation, and specialist knowledge in self-managed super funds and succession planning.

Mr McKinnon said Mrs McVeigh’s professional but down-to-earth approach has seen her develop valuable relationships with clients and their families.

Mrs McVeigh said she had chosen a career path at BMO because it was a progressive firm that was continuing to grow.

“BMO keeps up with the latest technology, accounting methods and supports ongoing training and career development.  But at the heart of what makes BMO tick, is its real focus on people.  It’s a very family-friendly supportive work environment where both employees and clients are genuinely valued.”

Mrs McVeigh grew up on the land, and now lives, with husband Andrew and their two primary school-aged boys, on a family property at Macalister.

“Because of my involvement in the farm operation, I find that I have a strong connection with both rural clients and small business owners.”
