Being recognised as one of the top businesses in the Dalby region with a Silver Award at this year’s Dalby Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Excellence Awards was another feather in the cap for successful locally-owned business, BMO.
BMO was recently named in the BRW Top 100 Australian Accounting firms and featured as one of the top three regional accounting firms in Australia.
“It’s great to get this recognition. It’s a pat on the back for our team and it’s good to know that hardworking, down-to-earth businesses in regional areas can be up there with the best in the country ,” BMO Partner Peter McKinnon said.
He said the business success was due to a willingness to go over and above what a typical accounting and financial planning firm would do.
“We don’t think about our role as helping a client just with their tax return or just with their investments. We work side-by-side with our clients. We are there with them through every stage of their business’ cycle, through good times and tough times.”
Peter said BMO’s strength was in the way the team had genuine concern for people and kept values at the core of everything BMO does.
“One of the best parts of the Awards night for us was watching the number of our clients who picked up awards. We are probably more chuffed about our clients winning awards than us winning. If our clients are successful, it tells us we are doing our job right.”
BMO is a multifaceted business headed up by Peter McKinnon, Adrian Rasmussen, Kelvin Tyler, Michelle McVeigh and Dave Briese (BMO Accountants), Shane Lee and Mal Smith (BMO Financial Solutions) and Paul Logan (BMO Lending Services). The firm also offers a Human Resources consultancy driven by Barry Jordan and Marketing-Communications consultancy managed by Megan James.
BMO has a team of about 45, who enjoy working with a diverse range of clients including primary producers, small-medium enterprises and industry leaders across a number of industries including manufacturing, hotels, automotive, retail, health, transport, aviation and professional services.
In 2009, the business moved to the fully renovated BMO Business Centre, which has become recognised as one of the region’s leading conference venues.
