20th January 2012
Farmers will be able to tap into the local experience of finance and employment experts at BMO at a new complimentary business series called The Farmer Wants a Life, aimed at helping farmers find balance in today’s hectic world, to be held at five locations throughout the Darling Downs in February.
The Farmer Wants a Life seminar series will deliver advice, information and practical ideas to assist primary production, agribusiness and rural-based businesses to get on top of their finances, succession planning, retirement planning, and obligations as employers.
Visiting the townships of Cecil Plains, Condamine, Jandowae, Meandarra and Dalby, the complimentary two hour seminar will feature experts in the field directly from BMO.
BMO Partner Peter McKinnon said, ‘The Farmer Wants a Life’ seminar series is a great chance for farmers and primary production businesses to get the information they need to get back on track or to ensure their current plans are workable.
‘Holding these seminars in five rural towns across the Darling Downs makes it accessible for everyone. It also gives us the opportunity to get out and visit the different regions to enhance our relationships with these communities.
’The seminars will cover a range of topics in a relaxed atmosphere, from tax advice to grants and government loans, employment advice, to succession planning and insurance.
’We encourage anyone interested to please attend. You don’t need to be an existing BMO client to enjoy the benefits of this event. Whilst the seminar has a farming theme there is also lots of information that any small business would benefit from. ’
The seminars will be held at Jandowae on February 15, at Cecil Plains and Dalby the following day (February 16) and finishing up at Meandarra and Condamine on February 23.
