BMO and Harvey Norman UNLEASH their support

Dalby companies BMO Accountants and Harvey Norman have thrown their support behind local youth by each giving a $1,000 donation to the up-and-coming Unleash event.

Unleash is a youth event being held at Dalby Showgrounds on 5 April featuring the action-packed extreme sports exhibitions by non-profit Christian youth organisation - JC Epidemic.

BMO Partner Adrian Rasmussen said BMO was proud to support the event designed to capture the attention of young people in our region and motivate them towards positive life choices.

“The young adults in our community are our future leaders. Anything we can do to encourage positive experiences for our youth is so important,” he said.

BMO has a policy of providing opportunity for young adults through its traineeship program that allows selected high school graduates to work while undertaking tertiary studies.

Harvey Norman Franchisee Steve Walker was also very excited to be supporting such a high standard youth event.

With a young workforce (all current employees at Dalby’s Harvey Norman are under the age of 25), Steve said he believed in creating opportunities for young people.

“We can relate to the needs and aspirations of young people in rural areas and were really keen to get behind an event that is tailored to youth. Besides, we ourselves are looking forward to the fun event.”

Mr Walker praised Unleash organisers Corey Back, Ben Hansen and Melissa Bartle, who have been working tirelessly to bring the event to the region.

The drug-and-alcohol-free event, held as part of Dalby’s Youth Week, will showcase freestyle motocross, BMX, skating, street dancing and live music. There will also be information stalls and opportunities for young people to find out more about community and social clubs they can become involved in.

Both Mr Rasmussen and Mr Walker encouraged other local businesses to give their support, whether it be in-kind or financial contributions, to Unleash.
