The team at BMO Accountants is putting new ideas for customer service into practice following a vibrant training session held by renowned speaker, Velia Nicholls, and hosted by the Dalby Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
BMO was also a proud sponsor of the training which saw around 60 business people attend over two sessions. Velia, of Courage to Speak, inspired participants with her entertaining approach providing a range of practical ideas for how to improve service.
Velia encouraged discussion on various issues within the workplace including how to identify the customer’s expectations, how to promote the value of a product and, importantly, how to answer the office phone professionally.
Held at the Dalby RSL, the training attendees were constantly entertained by the dynamic presenter. From identifying personality traits through donning coloured clothes pegs to dressing up in crepe paper to showcase ingenuity with given materials, the presentation was highly interactive, which Velia believes is the best way to learn.
‘If you’re sitting in your chair just listening to someone drone on and on, you’re not going to stay alert and concentrating. I find that when the participant is having fun they will absorb knowledge best,’ noted the speaker.
The training was well received by all, including BMO Practice Manager Barry Jordan who expressed his appreciation for the guidance.
’The session with Velia reminded us of the importance of putting our customers first and helped us come up with new techniques to look after our clients, listen to them, value them, and develop relationships with them.’
