Michelle McVeigh was crowned Regional Professional of the Year at the Women in Finance Awards for 2022.
Momentum Media, hosted the sixth annual Women in Finance Awards cocktail luncheon on Thursday at The Star in Sydney to celebrate the successes of the leading women in the finance industry.
The Women in Finance Awards recognise the outstanding contributions of the best and brightest women who are going above and beyond for their clients, while propelling the finance industry forward.
It was open to CEOs, entrepreneurs, executives, innovators, mentors, thought leaders, as well as young leaders who are leading the profession into the future.
Over 680 members of the finance industry were in attendance to cheer on 249 finalists competing for 24 individual and five company submission-based categories.
Michelle McVeigh, Partner, at Dalby business advisory firm BMO Accountants, said that she was humbled to be recognised and very excited and proud to have won the award.
“BMO’s recognition for our excellent contribution to the accounting industry reinforces the strength of our service and dedication to connecting with the community and engaging with clients. I couldn’t have done it without the great team at BMO,” she added.
Michelle, who has worked in the accounting industry for over 30 years and been a Partner at award winning regional firm, BMO Accountants since 2008 said that she enjoys the challenges of the industry along with the variety of advice and support she provides her clients.
“I love what I do, I love the community and the great team behind me. We are a locally owned firm, that live and work in the regional Western Downs community. Accepting the challenges and making opportunities is the key to success in a regional area,” Michelle said.
During a year of constant challenges and numerous changes, the awards were crucial to celebrate the leading women who are exceeding expectations and providing ongoing customer satisfaction.
Michelle was a finalist in the Accountant of Year category as well.
